Seismic Beauty leads Baffert 1-2 finish in Santa Margarita S. (G2)

Seismic Beauty powered to a five-length victory over stablemate Splendora in Sunday’s $200,000 Santa Margarita S. (G2) at Santa Anita Park in what was the first stakes outing for the 4-year-old filly.
Seismic Beauty led all the way in the 1 1/8-mile contest, with jockey Antonio Fresu sending her immediately to the lead. Splendora was always second, but could not match strides with Seismic Beauty, who had at least a two-length lead through six furlongs, then widened at will in the lane to win easily.
“She ran like she’s been training” Baffert added. “She’s just a big, beautifully striding filly who is getting better. We gave her plenty of time to mature.”
In terms of her next start, Baffert said, “It’s going to be something big. She’s ready for something big.”
Seismic Beauty has made just six lifetime starts, most recently winning an allowance race by 10 lengths on April 18. Saturday’s win upped her record to 3-2-1 in six starts, with earnings of $236,840 for owners MyRacehorse and Peter Leidel.
