Misremembered sets track record in Indiana Derby (G2)
The Baffert-bred, owned and trained 3-year-old Misremembered turned in a track-record performance in winning the $500,000 Indiana Derby (G2) on Oct. 3rd at Hoosier Park.
Shipping out of California for the first time, Misremembered passed his first road test with flying colors, tracking the early pace before proving best in the stretch to win by a half-length. The final time for 1 1/16 miles event run at night was 1:40.80 – establishing a new track record for the distance. The chestnut ridgling by Candy Ride earned a 97 Beyer Speed Figure.
Misremembered scored his fourth win from seven starts, which also includes a big win in the Swaps S. (G2) at Hollywood Park in July. He now has earnings of $554,760 for Baffert, who owns Misremembered along with George Jacobs.
