Eda wins seventh straight in Rancho Bernardo H. (G3)
Eda turned in yet another stellar performance in Sunday’s Rancho Bernardo H. (G3), winning the 6 ½-furlong race by 1 ½-lengths to give the Bob Baffert trainee her seventh victory in a row.
The winning streak dates back to October of 2021, when the now 4-year-old won the Anokia S. She missed most of her 3-year-old campaign after winning the Santa Ysabel S. (G3), and has come back as good as ever this year, with three wins in 2023.
Owned by the Baoma Corp., Eda was very professional in Sunday’s victory. She tracked Princess Adaleigh through a half-mile, then willingly took the lead and draw clear in the final furlong. The time was 1:16.49 on a fast track.
“She is just so competitive,” Baffert said of the winner. “Some horses just like to win, they know how to win. You’re lucky to have fillies like this. It’s exciting to have this kind of filly.”
Eda now has four graded stakes wins and is 8-1-0 in 10 lifetime starts, with earnings of $667,600.
