Collected crushed the field in Saturday’s $100,000 Precisionist S. (G3) at Santa Anita Park, winning by 14 lengths over stablemate Cat Burglar to give Bob Baffert an “extended” exacta in the 1 1/16-mile contest.

Collected was just behind Donworth for the first six furlongs, then quickly opened up a big lead at the top of the stretch and coasted home to get the distance in 1:41.52 on the fast main track.

“This middle distance is more his thing and I can see he reacts better. As long as I keep him like this, he’s going to be really tough to beat,” said Baffert

“I’ve always thought that when I get him to Del Mar I might try him on the turf, he was bred for it. We’ll get him down there and work him and see.”

Collected is perfect in three stakes starts this year, taking the Santana Mile and Californian S. (G2) during the current Santa Anita meet. He is owned by Speedway Stable LLC and has now won seven of ten starts and earned $660,500.
