Baffert Runners Win Back to Back Stakes at Belmont

Runners trained by Bob Baffert won back-to-back stakes wire-to-wire as the heavy favorites on the Belmont undercard June 8th.

In the 7th race, Zayat Stables’ speedy Fast Bullet took down the $400,000 True North H. (G2) in 1:08.27 against some of America’s premier sprinters. Fast Bullet was winning for the fourth time in five starts, but his first in an added money event. The son of Champion Speightstown boosted his earnings to $327,000 with the win.

A race earlier, Grade 1 winner Power Broker won his inaugural stakes of the year, with a gate to wire win in the $150,000 Easy Goer Stakes at 1 1/16 miles. Under Rozie Napravnik, the son of Pulpit defeated eight others by a handy 3 3/4 lengths under top weight of 122 pounds. Power Broker races for Gary and Mary West, and now has a record of 8-3-1-1 and $378,800.
