Undefeated Dream Tree sparkles in Prioress S. (G2)
Monday, September 3, 2018
Dream Tree kept her perfect record intact in Sunday's $250,000 Prioress S. (G2) at Saratoga, drawing off to a 4 1/4-length win over Mia Mischief in 1:09.50 for the six furlongs.

The win was the third in the race for Bob Baffert, who captured the 2008 running with two-time champion Indian Blessing and the 2004 renewal with Friendly Michelle.

Dream Tree got a stern test from Mia Mischief in the Sunday feature. The pair were side-by-side for the lead through the first half-mile, which went in :44.93. They continued to be locked together until the final sixteenth, when Dream Tree pulled away for what is her third graded stakes win.

"Man, she brought it today,” said Baffert. “She had been training so well and we were debating on running her [at Del Mar] in a stake on closing day or take her to Saratoga. We decided to give her a shot since she was doing so well. I'm just glad she shipped well and is still undefeated. That freshening really helped her. She's really matured a lot. She showed today how good she really is. It's pretty exciting.”

Dream Tree had been off since Feb. 4, when she won the Las Virgenes S. (G2), her only prior start during this 3-year-old campaign. At 2, she won the Starlet (G1) at Los Alamitos, as well as the Desi Arnaz S. at Del Mar and her maiden debut in October at Santa Anita. With five wins in five starts, she has earned $527,500 for Phoenix Thoroughbred III.
