Nothing Like You shot through an opening along the rail at the top of the stretch and went on to win the $300,000 Santa Anita Oaks (G2) by nearly eight lengths over her stablemate Kinza.

Kinza was the early pacesetter in the 1 1/16-mile race, with Nothing Like You no more than two lengths off the leader in fourth through a half-mile in :46.88. With Frankie Detorri waiting patiently behind horses around the final bend, he found his opening when Kinza drifted off the rail turning for home. Nothing Like You quickly took command and was in complete control the rest of the way, drawing off at will to finish the 1 1/16-mile on a fast track in 1:43.21.

“I was fully loaded at the quarter pole,” said Dettori. “I just needed a little bit of room and she took off. What can you say about Baffert? He’s a genius. We have a good working relationship. He trains them and I ride them.”

Nothing Like You, who is now 4-1-0 in eight starts, won the Starlet (G2) and Desi Arnaz S. as a 2-year-old. She is owned by Georgia Antley Hunt, Jeff Giglio and John Rogitz and has earned $423,160.
