Princess Noor's win in the Sept. 6 Del Mar Debutante (G1) continued an incredible weekend for Bob Baffert that also saw him win his sixth Kentucky Derby (G1). Princess Noor is his record ninth winner of the Del Mar Debutante.

The 2-year-old filly , who brought $1.35 million at the OBS Spring 2-year-old sale, has been brilliant in both her starts to date, winning by a combined nine lengths while earning $183,000 for Zedan Racing Stables LLC.

Despite an awkward start when she broke inward and lost some ground, Princess Noor quickly recovered and was under a snug hold for the backstretch run. She ranged up three-wide on the turn and easily took the lead. In the stretch, she drew off under her own power and was eased up at the end to finish the seven furlongs in 1:23.15.

“We knew going in she was a special filly,” said her trainer Bob Baffert. ”She showed so much brilliance at the sale, that's why she cost so much, and we got what we expected to see today. She broke a little off kilter and was behind horses, but Victor didn't really push her, especially at the end. We're happy to get the win. We'll run her back at Santa Anita and then go from there.”

Baffert won four of five Debutantes in the late 1990s and most recently won the 2019 renewal with Bast.
