Leading 3-year-old Pioneerof the Nile captured his third graded stakes win in a row on the Triple Crown trail, professionally winning the $200,000 San Felipe S. (G2) as the odds-on choice March 14 at Santa Anita.

The victory by the Bob Baffert trainee sets him up for a run in his final Kentucky Derby prep - the $750,000 Santa Anita Derby (G1) on April 4.

“He’s becoming very professional," said Baffert, in reference to his late-running colt's tactical win in a paceless renewal of the San Felipe. "I like what I saw today. This will tighten the screws up for the Santa Anita Derby.
